I’m Ready Now Available to Order

We're very happy to announce Clean Sate MD Jeff Mitchell's first book is now available to order.

I'm Ready: The 7 Signs That Show You're Right for the Job is now onsale via our publisher Tangent Books and is the result of a successful Kickstarter campaign launched at the end of 2015.

Using an innovative, storytelling approach taking readers through Clean Slate's 7 Signs training, the book is both about and for jobseekers struggling to get back into work.

The Big Issue founder, Lord John Bird of Notting Hill says of I'm Ready:

"I’m Ready – The 7 Signs That Show You’re Right for the Job is a timely intervention in how we help people out of destructive dependency. How we carefully, thoughtfully and in a supportive way help people who previously were stuck and outside of help to lift their game.

The jobcentre cannot do this transformational work on its own. The 7 Signs are that bridge that gets people ready to take on the challenge.

I was heartened by the tenderly described lives of people like Jock, a person who I feel I have known for much of the last 25 years. A man who was defeated and added daily to that defeat but in the end could use the 7 Signs to find a connection with his own potential and resilience, building on the fact that he had learned a rough kind of survival and turning that to good ends: his own transformation.

I have worked with Jeff Mitchell over the years and in his work with 7 Signs I can see the same no-nonsense thoroughness he brought to the development of The Big issue. It is accompanied by a profound belief in people often written off, that shines out of every page of this book.

We need more level-headed believing in people who misfortune has stalked; that is why this book is so vital and real and embraceable. Buy, read and grasp how essential it is for us to support programmes like the 7 Signs to turn help into opportunity for change."
