Aspirations Survey - the results

Clean Slate was commissioned to research the aspirations of ‘workless’ people in the Bath & North East Somerset area. Our report, Aspiring to More, presents the findings alongside vital information about the barriers unemployed people face.

The web-based survey model is available to local authorities and agencies that want a snapshot or longitudinal study of the needs of local groups or service users – the former being supported with a proportion of qualitative data obtained through interviews. A researcher-based variation of the survey has been developed for housing associations (conducted door to door) and agencies that want a more qualitative approach.

Clean Slate is committed to extending this research to other areas to build an overview of the needs of unemployed people. We hope that, over time, this will lead to comparative studies of regional differences.
